You would think that by looking at these pictures I live out in the middle of nowhere. But it’s just good ‘ol Lehi. I guess you can say the great thing about my neighborhood is that we have the best of both worlds–Target 5 minutes away, and horses and farms down the street. I guess that’s life here in Utah. I remember my cousin telling me when they first moved to Utah from California that one of the things their 6 year old was most excited about was seeing cows and horses! I was thinking in my head that she was probably going to be disappointed since Utah has become so “hustle and bustle” within the last few years….but lo and behold I was WRONG. There are still tons of places where you see horses and cows mixed in with a bunch of new developments. It’s actually kinda funny.
I decided that I wanted to get out of the house–no matter how cold it was and get some shots of our beautiful surroundings. You forget how beautiful the world is when you spend most of your day cooped up in your house. I decided to focus my treck on areas around my home and it turned into an hour and a half of simple discovery. I realized how beautiful just a simple tree on a secluded street was…and how grand the rocky mountains are. We are so blessed to live in an area where we are surrounded by beauty. I have always been an ocean/green pine trees kind of person (i.e. Hawaii, and the Northwest)…my mom loves the Rocky Mountains. I’m glad I got out of the house because today I realized the beauty of Utah. (I know, kind of lame since I’ve lived here for a year now and I’m just noticing stuff!)
Stay tuned for some other pics I took….seriously, if you have the chance I challenge you to get out and take pictures of your neighborhood, you will find things you never even noticed before. I had too much fun.
