Jill is my hero. | Utah Portrait Photographer- Maternity

We shot in the rain.

It rained the entire shoot.

We laughed.  A lot.

Jill was so radiantly GORGEOUS.  If it wasn’t so cold and RAINY, I would have shot her ALL day.  You are all probably thinking in your heads why we crazy people decided to still do a photo session in the rain.  Well.  Jill is from Washington, and it was the only day we could do it before she headed back home.  But I was up for it, because I know Jilligity…and she is one of those people who make things work.  She wasn’t even stressed about the rain.  She was just like, “oh well…it rains a lot in Washington so no big deal.”  Her main reason for taking these pics was for her kids.  A way to document this time in her life as a mother.  So beautiful.

Jill.  I have no words to describe how amazingly gorgeous you are.  I was so worried because of the rain.  Even after the shoot, I was stressed driving home thinking about how the rain ruined our shoot.  How the rain was dripping all over our faces, how I continually fogged up my camera, and how the rained drenched our clothes…and of course, you can see it in your pictures.  I was cursing in my head throughout the shoot thinking how much the rain interfered how I needed to hurry to get you out of the rain QUICK.   I shouldn’t have worried.  I should have taken my time, because  as I looked over your images, I loved how it turned out.  I love how perfectly imperfect they are.  I wished I would have gotten more of you and your gorgeous self.  So now I’m cursing at myself that I should have had more fun in the rain…like you!

You truly are a BEAUTIFUL mother and friend!  Thanks for having me take your photos!

P.S.  Cindy…you were amazing!  Standing in the rain with us, holding all the equipment.  thank you. thank you.  luvs to you!

Here’s a peek…

work it.  work it.

The pic to the right is my fav of you Jill.  You made me laugh the entire time.:)

That’s right…she could probably still try out for the high school cheer leading team.  go girl.

AYKM?!? GORGEOUS.

Mitch-Lehi High School | Utah Senior Photographer

Check this guy out!:)  Mitch was super natural in front of the camera and he owned it.  Usually, guys have a harder time “working it” in front of the camera, but it seemed like second nature for this guy!  That makes my job A LOT easier!  Thanks to Shawn & Brett for helping with the reflectors & such!  Just posted a few… Hope you like your sneak peek!

Utah Headshot Photographer

I’ll continue to post images from the workshop as I get to them…so enjoy these three for now!  More to come.

Sisters? | Utah Child Photographer

So I’m back from my three day trip–and I’m glad to be back!  I missed my family.  Like I said earlier, I haven’t traveled without them like ever…well, just once.  But it was years ago.  Anyway…I attended Brianna Graham’s workshop and learned a lot.  She is an AMAZING photographer based out in Michigan and her work just inspires me to work harder and be that much more diligent in what I love to do.  I was amazed at how detailed she was with every aspect of her business.  She is fantastic.  The image above is one I took during the workshop.  These girls told me they were sisters…but come to find out, they were “God Sisters” so not related by blood.  Funny girls.  I really like how moody this picture turned out.  There will be more posts to come of my favorite images from the workshop, so stay tuned.

New Place…New Face…hahahaha| Utah Photography

So my husband Rob tells me the other day I’m taking too many pictures of the kids . . . so I said great, then let me take pictures of you, hahaha. He laughed and said no ways . . but after some haggling he agreed to do it as a date, since he hasn’t taken me on a date in forever. So I picked out his outfit and we went off in search of a new place to shoot at. We’ve driven past this place in AF a ton of times, but have never stopped to check it out. I’m glad I did cause I found some unexpected cool spots. Definitely gonna use this spot for a future family/engagement shoot, bes believe dat! Despite Rob complaining about the cold, poses I wanted him to do, and his inability to keep a straight face and not crack up, I think we got some good shots. I had to fight him on posting these, so leave a comment and holla back to let Rob know taking pictures for your wife doesn’t mean you’re a pozer, hahaha.
