“REEL” LOVE–Megh & Layne’s Engagements | Utah Wedding Photographer

This is Part I of a II part series of engagement photos.  Why?  Because of the crazy weather.  We had to reschedule part of their engagements because it was raining and too dark to shoot outside…so you’ll have to sit tight for the second half.  We got a bunch of cute shots while the weather was cooperating, but this post focuses more on the theater shots because I thought their idea was so cute and original.  When I met Megh & Layne for their wedding consultation, they explained to me that they had this idea of shooting in a theater.  They wanted to feature some of the theater shots in a future couples shower they were going to have–and their shower’s theme…”REEL LOVE.”  Isn’t that so cute?!?  So, part of the engagement shoot had to be in a theater.  I was a little skeptical of how they would turn out since I hadn’t shot in a theater before…but I was up for the challenge.  I really loved how they turned out…I used off-camera lighting (Thanks Sydney for your amazing assistant skillz!) to get the effect I wanted in a dark theater.  Stay tuned for more of their engagement shoot coming up soon!

I thought the one to the right was hilarious…totally them.  (it must be such a scaaaary movie!  hahaha)  ok.corny.I’ll stop.

These are just two shots of a bunch that were so cute…but in the interest of time, I edited these to show for now.  Megh…you are so radiant and gorgeous.  Layne…not to bad yourself!:)

Aubrey & Josh Engagements | Utah Wedding Photographer

I had met Aubrey before our engagement session since she came over for a bridal consultation awhile ago.  But I didn’t meet Josh until the shoot day.  And that’s my excuse for royally messing up his name left and right.  First I was calling him Andrew ( I have no idea why…) and then it was Jason.  Yup.  I was so embarassed.  Luckily Josh was such a nice guy that he just brushed it off.  I reassured them that I do know their names and I’m not a total putz.  I’ll make sure not to get it wrong on their wedding day.  :)

It was so fun to shoot their pics…they are high school sweethearts!  Can you believe it?  Aubrey waited for Josh all through his mission…and when he got back, they dated some more, and ended up getting engaged.  That’s true love!  I love how they were so comfortable around each other…I think that was due to them dating for such a long time.

Aubrey & Josh–it was a blast shooting your engagements.  Thanks for putting up with my “hahas” and lame jokes.  You guys are so cute, and such genuine nice people.  Thanks for having me shoot you guys!  Can’t wait for your wedding day!:)

Whoa…hold the phone Aubrey.  GORGEOUS.

Aubrey is a crafty gal…and she made the “T”.  It stands for Twitchell.  Cool last name don’tcha think?

RAWR.  I love it.

I love this wide shot of them kissing.  perfect moment.

i love how the pipes give the image to the right some symmetry!

Finally some wackylicious shots.  I thought these turned out so fun.  I love Josh’s crazy faces in all of them.  I think I loved these so much that I’m going to do it on all of my engagement shoots.  I would enlarge these suckers on big canvases and make a wall collage.  Just sayin’…

Andrew & Victoria’s Engagement Video | Utah Wedding Photographer

So remember Andrew & Victoria’s Engagement Shoot?  Well, here’s the video that Enge cam up with.  Isn’t it so cute?  I also think it is such an amazingly cute idea to incorporate video with photography.  It will be something memorable and something you will go to watch all the time.  Andrew & Victoria will be showcasing this video at their reception….another great idea.  So, if you’re getting married, and are interested in doing something like this, holla back at me.  It’s something new that I will be offering to all of my clients!:)

Nizhoon & Sascha Engagements | Utah Wedding Photographer

They met on E-Harmony.  yup.  The online dating site WORKS!!!!  Nizhoon was super skeptical in it all, but it turns out that if it wasn’t for the internet dating awesomeness, she would have never met Sascha.  They’ve been doing the long distance thang for about a year now, and felt it was about time to actually go for it and get married!  I’m so excited for them.  They are such a HOT couple.

Here’s why:

First of all…I am totally loving their names.  I’m thinking they’re going to have to keep coming up with awesome names for their kids because a simple “Sarah” won’t do if your mom’s name is Nizhoon and your dad’s name is Sascha (sorry all you Sarah’s out there…Sarah is a lovely name :) )

They really are HOT together.  Chemistry.  Period.

They are so fun and real.  Nizhoon is my girl! :)  I’m loving that she said, “Sascha is the first “white meat” she’s dated…”  Well, and Nizhoon is Sascha’s first “dark meat,” too.  Okay..I’m totally getting hungry right now so I’ll stop with the meat thing.

I love that they just laugh together and can be goofy together.

Thanks Nizhoon and Sascha for having me photograph this time in your life!  So excited for your crazy plans!:)  Love you both!

I must say…the picture to the right is just hawt…hawt….get a room guys!  hahaha….

nizhoon, you are B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!!!

THE BLIIING!

Andrew & Victoria Engaged | Utah Wedding Photographer

I’m so excited to finally get this session posted!  I met Victoria & Andrew at Victoria’s sister’s wedding about a year ago…when they had first started dating.  I half jokingly told them that they would have to hire me as their photographer when they got married.  Little did I know that they would in fact be getting married almost a year from that day!  I’m extremely excited for them.  Really love these two. :)  They are just the perfect couple–and might I add that they are simply friggin’ gorgeous with their model selves….

This engagement shoot was a little different than most of my shoots, as I worked with Enge Chen Films to do a special “documentary” style video for Andrew & Victoria’s wedding.  We had this idea to incorporate the little chalk board for the two love birds to write special notes to each other.  I can’t wait to see what Enge came up with on her end.:)

Thanks Andrew and Victoria for being troopers throughout the whole session.  It was long…but I hope worth it!  You guys are amazing and I love working with you two!  Can’t wait for the groomals!:)  I promise we’ll get the swiss house and red barn in then!  hahahaha….

Here’s some shots I got from the shoot…hope you likey.

Andrew and Victoria writing messages to each other…awwww…aren’t they so cute?!?
