Joanna | Utah Wedding Photographer-Bridals

Joanna is the younger sister of my good friend from back in the BYU days…(S-Hall, 3rd Floor!)  Had to give a little shout out to my girl Kelly!  Anyhoo…I couldn’t get over how stunningly beautiful Joanna is!  I mean…this girl has the perfect silky skin, she’s TINY (totally jealous about that), and she has gorgeous red hair.  She’s studying photography at UVU, so she is usually working it behind the camera…but this time, she WORKED IT in front of the lens.  Can’t even begin to tell you how great it was to work with someone who was willing to try anything.  The only problem was, my camera was acting up on and off throughout the shoot, and I must admit, I was totally getting flustered inside.  Because of my camera issues, I ended up taking multiple pictures of the same pose just to make sure I got them…and by multiple I mean like a gazillion.  This ended up making our shoot a lot longer than I had expected.  We shot for three hours!  This also meant that we were working with pretty harsh sun an hour into the shoot.  That was another issue in an of itself.  All in all, I think we got some gorgeous shots of Joanna.  I can’t wait for her vintage inspired wedding!  She’s using peacock feathers!:)  LUUUUURVE it.

A BIG THANKS To Joanna’s mom who worked harder than us both.  She was running back and forth getting the diffuser, reflector, chair, fixing dresses, flowers, the list goes on and on.  She even fixed the bouquet after I had totally stepped on it.  SORRY!!!!  Hope you like the sneak peek.  You’ll be going through a gazillion pictures soon!  haha…

EBATES

Normally I don’t forward information, or solicit anything to others unless it is totally worth it, and I’ve tried it myself.  I’ve already gotten over $100 back from them.  So, here’s the plug for EBATES.  If you love to shop online for anything: clothes, shoes, furniture, whatever, first log on to your EBATES, and get additional discounts to all of your favorite stores.  So here’s the write-up of what they are all about:

WHAT EBATES SAYS:

Ebates is the pioneer and leader of online Cash Back Shopping. The company was founded in 1998 by two Deputy District Attorneys in Silicon Valley who used to prosecute online fraud & identity theft before starting Ebates (so you can be sure we are very into secure online transactions!). So go ahead, sign up and start shopping now. Joining Ebates is always free – you’ll never pay us anything. And four times a year or more, we’ll mail you a Big Fat Check, or transfer the money to your PayPal account if you’d prefer. We can even send the money to your favorite charity. All 100% free.

People often ask: “This sounds too good to be true, how are you able to do it?” It really is quite simple. Just like almost every other online shopping center, we get a commission from the stores when you make a purchase. Instead of keeping that money – like almost all other sites do – we share it with you!

So, as long as 1200+ of the world’s top online stores are happy to pay a bonus to attract the new, valuable customers we send their way, Ebates is going to continue to send Big Fat Checks to our satisfied customers across the globe.

So here is the link…sign up now!   I won’t lie…if you sign-up through this link, I do get credit for referring peeps to them.  You can do the same once you sign up, too!   You won’t regret it! http://www.ebates.com/rf.do?referrerid=0FFIhjQ5uy94rNDvS%2BGFcQ%3D%3D

Mitch-Lehi High School | Utah Senior Photographer

Check this guy out!:)  Mitch was super natural in front of the camera and he owned it.  Usually, guys have a harder time “working it” in front of the camera, but it seemed like second nature for this guy!  That makes my job A LOT easier!  Thanks to Shawn & Brett for helping with the reflectors & such!  Just posted a few… Hope you like your sneak peek!

Crichton & Danielle | Utah Wedding Photographer-Engagements

Crichton & Danielle met in Hawaii, but now live here in Utah.  And people….Crichton is a DJ, so he can work out some serious beats if you’re ever in need of an awesome party….but I digress.  SOOOO…..Such a cute couple if I do say so myself.  And of course…I’m DYING over Danielle’s beautiful eyes.  Seriously, Danielle…can’t get over how totally gorgeous you are.  If I could, I’d take pictures of you all day.  Okay…that’s starting to sound a little creepy.   But seriously, you guys are so cute together and I just can’t wait to shoot your wedding.  You blog readers have to know that their engagement shoot ran WAYYY over time–and we were out shooting for 3 hours.  That’s right people, 3 HOURS!  I’ve never done that before.  It’s only because I had this vision in my head of how I wanted to shoot them on their long boards, and take after take it wasn’t working out.  Poor Danielle and Crichton were so patient with the whole situation.:)  Anyway, enjoy your sneak peek!  Did I mention that you guys ROCKED?!?  Yup.  You sure rocked my world.

Canon G11..Awesome point and shoot

Today’s post is about my new purchase…the Canon G11.  It’s a super awesome camera that is small, can fit in your purse, and you can still do manual settings on it.  It’s like a mini DSLR camera–but without the bulk.    You can shoot with all the modes (AUTO, Manual, AV, TV, P, and even HD video).  So you are probably asking yourself why I even purchased this camera when I have all of that and more on my Canon 5D Mark II.

The Canon 5D Mark II is my go-to photography camera, while my Canon G11 will be my everyday carry-around camera for my family.  Why do I need another camera you ask?  Well, the Mark II is an awesome camera, and while I love the images that I get from that camera, it is quite a bulky camera that is hard to fit in my purse.  I found myself not catching the everyday moments of my kids when we were out playing or going to the store, or at a soccer game because I just didn’t want to lug my huge camera around with all the different lenses.  I started noticing that I had less and less pictures of my girls because of that.  My solution…get a kick butt smaller camera that I can take on vacations and outings and not have to compromise on crappy image quality.  Ok….so the G11 is no Mark II, but it is a pretty sweet little camera.  Like I stated before, it’s a great camera for those who like to use the manual settings, and great for those who are happy with shooting their pics on AUTO.  It will even shoot in RAW mode.  I’ve been very pleased with the crisp picture outcome!   We had another point and shoot camera, and it boasted a bunch of awesome options, and even got great ratings, but the image quality to me was BADDDD.  It didn’t even come close to the G11.  It is a little more pricier than the $100 cameras you can get now, but if you are patient, you can get some great deals on them.

So if you are in the market for a new point and shoot…look no further than the G11.  I’m so glad we got it.  I’ve already been shooting a lot more of my girls with it. :)  I’ll post pictures of image quality on another post.  Happy weekend!
