Matt & Sachiyo Engagements | Utah Wedding Photographer

Shabaka.  That’s how I started the engagement session.  That’s right.  Shabaka.  Is it a Japanese word you ask?  No…it’s a word that the iphone came up with when correcting my text that was supposed to read “Ahahaha” but apparently “Ahahahaha” is not in the dictionary, and “Shabaka” is.  So when Sachiyo read my text that was supposed to read “Ahahahaha” because I was laughing, instead she read “Shabaka” which was just down right confusing and hilarious all at the same time.  So, ya, that’s how I started our session.  With total stupidity.  But it was all good because Matt & Sachiyo are friggin’ cool.  How do I always get so lucky with such awesome peeps to hang out and shoot with?!?  I wish I could have edited more pics–because there were others I wanted to get to, but in the interest of time (since I’m really behind right now) and I didn’t want to hold out on Matt & Sachi anymore, here are a few from our session.  Both of them are avid climbers.  They climb EVERYTHING.  So, of course, we had to climb something during our session.  It’s one of my favs I have to say.

P.S.  I tried to climb something myself.  Just a lowly fence.  Something that Matt & Sachi would jump over…but um…I got stuck.  And I couldn’t get my fat booty or my leg to help me get over it.  I’m sure they were laughing their heads off inside, but ya, I even got a battle wound on my toe for my efforts or lack thereof.  Thanks for being prepared with a bandaid Sachi!  Love you!

Anyway, here’s a few to start:

They could have climbed the entire wall.  crazy I say.

Sachi & Matt don’t really like their “serious” look, but I gots to say, the one on the right is one of my favs of them.  They are HOTNESS!

Brooke Class of 2011 | Utah Senior Photographer

I loved taking pics of Brooke.  So easy going, so chill, my kinda girl.  I can’t believe how grown up everyone is getting.  Just a sophomore when I first met her and now a grown-up senior.  Miss Brooke…you are beautiful! You are gonna go places girl!  And when I’m old and have a heart attack, you can come rescue me with your paramedic skills…hahaha…

Here’s your sneak peek…:)

Baby Kingston | Utah Child Photographer

I rarely do newborn sessions.  I actually try to get out of doing newborn sessions because I often times feel inadequate when shooting little babies.  I could never position them right without the babies crying and the sessions last forever because we have to work with baby’s schedule.  Don’t get me wrong, I love babies…but it’s just super stressful for me.  So when Kelly still wanted me to shoot her little Kingston, I had a mix of emotions.  On one hand, I was excited because I had been doing weddings a lot this summer, and this would give me a new change, but on the other hand I was a little nervous because I rarely shoot newborns.  Rarely being the key word here.  I was so glad when Kelly walked in my door with her two adorable kids.  She was so chill and totally relaxed–and just let me have at it.  I don’t think things would have turned without Kelly being so chill about everything.  Baby Kingston was a DREAM to shoot, too.  It’s as if all the stars aligned to make sure I wouldn’t stress.  Thank you Kingston for never crying.  If all babies were like Kingston, I’d probably shoot newborn sessions more often.  For real.  He was so adorable and so tiny!  I forgot how small they come out at first! ahahahha….

P.S.  I just realized that this last picture looks like he is flipping off the camera and laughing.  Ahhahahaha….I love it.

Kylene Senior 2011 | Utah Senior Photographer

I am DYING over these!  Kylene came all the way from Montana to have her senior pics done by ME!  (haha…ya I wish!)  Her family is actually vacationing in Utah since they used to live here, and while they are here, she scheduled a senior session.  So I guess in a way, she came all the way for me! hee…hee…a girl can wish, right?!?  Anyway, back to the DYING over images part…that’s what I’m doing right now because I am so loving how these came out!  I felt like I was so slow this session…I don’t know what it was about me.  I felt like I was moving slow and totally spacing it throughout.  Not myself.  Maybe because before I got to the location, I almost got myself in an accident and almost died.  Serious.  It was as if my foot was lead and I totally ran a red light–and cars were coming from the side about to hit me.  It was scary.  And to top it off, Kylene, Kade, and her mom were in the car right behind me.  They were probably thinking in their heads that they have a psycho photographer!  hahaha…I promise.  I’m not that crazy.  I’m so glad that Kylene was ready and had her game face on…cuz I was a little shaken up a bit.  She WORKED IT OUT!  Hot Model style!  I mean…she is gorgeous to begin with, but she was so fun and great in front of the camera.  Seniors are so fun.  so FUN!

Kylene–I hope you love these as much as I do…and there’s lots more to look through…good luck picking, because I don’t know if I could narrow them down.  I just posted a few just so you can check ‘em out!   You are amazing!  You are going to have an awesome year for sure!  You’ll have to hit me up when you come back out here for COLLEGE!:)

A special thank you to Jonnette & Kade for all their help!  Kade–thanks for sporting my sweaty “bangles.”  You ROCK.
